APRICOT - PEACH - SWEET
Spätlese means late harvest which usually means the wines are sweeter. This organic late harvest Riesling is exactly that, packed with a nice acidity paired up with the flavours of apricot and peach - just joyful!
A little background on the inspiring vineyard this wine comes from:
The Lebenshilfe Winery makes beautiful organic wine and has a beautiful story. Lebenshilfe means “life help” and is a foundation to support intellectual disabled adults and kids in Germany. They take their environmental and social responsibilities to heart by running a shop selling locally made products and even employing a team of 35 adults with special needs to work with the winemakers.
The very cute wine label was hand-drawn by a disabled woman who worked for the vineyard in the 80s. The simple crayon drawing visualizes the essentials of winemaking: sun, vines, soil, and a happy farmer.
With an after dinner cheese plate
