The Château de Lisennes is located int he famous French wine region, Bordeaux. The vineyard's history begins after the Second World War as a mixed farm that grew all sorts of things alongside the grapevines. Farm animals such as pigs and cows roam the vast property which also includes a forest and even had an apple orchard in the '60s. Master multitaskers! It was only when Jean-Pierre Soubie inherited the winery in the 1970s that he transformed the family business into a pure - and superior quality - winery. Jean-Pierre parted with the apple trees and the old vines to make way for new modern grape varieties such as Merlot Cabernet. Today his son continues to run the winery and has left his own mark on the family business by implementing all organic growing practices. Even going as far as to produce their own solar-powered energy.
