Patrick Kampf is a winemaking character in the best sense. He’s a gentle and patient man with plenty of charm and a stubborn head full of ideas. He marches to the beat of his own drum and does his own thing because nothing irritates him more than the idea of doing something the way everyone does without question. The story behind this vineyard is anything but typical. Along with the traditional winemaking operations, they also run a Christmas tree farm that’s been in the family for six generations. But Patrick, with his family’s approval, is now gradually taking over the helm and wants to be the first to concentrate solely on winemaking. The restructuring of the family business is anything but simple, and you can feel the influence of Patrick’s ideas at every corner of the property. New tanks here, a smaller construction site there, and on top of all that, he converted the entire operation to environmentally friendly organic farming. And with that, he’s already taking care of the next generation!
