DIY Halloween Wine Bottle Lantern

Halloween is a holiday that usually requires a little DIY, so if you’re creating a unique costume or decorating for a party it’s time to put your crafting skills to the test. At WINE MOMENTS we believe in making the most of what we have, and what do we always have a lot of? Empty wine bottles. So, we are going to tell you how you can take those empty bottles and turn them into a spooky lamp or Jack-O-Lantern (with no carving necessary).

What you will need: Adhesive remover, Paint (any colour you want), Scissors, tape, LED string lights (battery operated recommend).

Step 1: Remove the label from the bottle. Begin by boiling water and then pouring the water into your wine bottle. Try to avoid spilling any water onto the labels when you do this. After you fill your bottle, wait a few minutes and (with the water still in the bottle) slowly start to peel the labels off. Last, clean off any leftover glue residue from the bottle with adhesive remover and wash the bottle with dish soap.

Step 2: Here is where you can get creative, you can leave the bottle the way it is a skip to step 3, or you can break out the paint pens. Using paint pens or a brush paint a spooky face or symbol on your bottle, you could go with the Jack-O-Lantern faces or anything else that reminds you of Halloween. Depending on your artistic skills you could paint anything you want on your bottle but we would recommend not painting the whole bottle a solid colour so the lights show through.

Step 3: The last step is to take small LED string lights and put them down inside the bottle. Turn them on and you have yourself a Halloween Lantern!
