Uli Metzger

Uli Metzger is a winemaker with heart and soul. After finishing his formal training as a viticulturist and becoming a master at his trade, Uli Metzger started working in the family wine estate. Since 1987 he has gradually modernized his wine estate and expanded from 7 to now 19 hectare. Uli is one of the most hardworking winemakers​ in Germany and in 2010 he changed the look of his wine bottles. While other winemakers name their wines after stars or grapes, Uli decided to use a play on words (Metzger is German for butcher) and categorizes his wines on a butchers chart. The different cuts of meat resemble the different quality levels in his wine.
